Orlando, FL (11/12 - 11/18)
After a wonderful 5 days at home, it was time to waste away again in Margaritaville, beginning with a week in Orlando.
Our performances were in the beautiful Walt Disney Theater (part of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts). We were invited to sign the wall here, too, which turned out to be a big tag on a mirror panel.
Before signatures, after signatures, and my own signature!
Also, this theater is HUGE, and the band was relegated to the basement. Not a bad walk, considering all the downtown Orlando traffic we sat in each night on our way to work. Yuck.
Time lapse from the band room to my station.
THE THEME PARKS
I bit the bullet and bought a park-hopper ticket to DisneyWorld! NO "RAGRETS."
For my DisneyLAND buffs back home: Star Wars Land (er, "Galaxy's Edge") was pretty much the same. I definitely could have spent more time in Hollywood Studios in general though, especially since Tower of Terror still exists there!
Despite the dreary weather, DisneyWorld was a highlight on the tour so far. Truly the Happiest Place on Earth?
A quick peek at Galaxy's Edge. This part was identical to Disneyland's.
2. Universal Studios
I almost opted to go to Disney Springs instead of Universal, but there was a larger crowd visiting the latter and as much as I love The Mouse, "variety is the spice of life." I'd say it was the right call.
P.S. THE HAGRID ROLLERCOASTER WAS AMAZING.
Mandatory stops included Voodoo Donut and Harry Potter World. Also note the fake PANTAGES!
Who doesn't love a good pyro effect? I could feel the heat from all the way back here!
MARGARITAVILLE and MOVIN' ON
A bunch of us made the trek back to Universal to have dinner at Margaritaville after our last show!
If you are part of Escape to Margaritaville and don't go to the Margaritaville restaurant, are you even on the island?!
... Next stop: Ft. Lauderdale!
